Understanding Roof Shingles Types

Not all roof shingles are created equal. Understanding the different roof shingles types available helps you make an informed decision for your property:

Asphalt Shingles are the most popular roofing material in North America, valued for their
affordability, durability, and versatility. These shingles consist of a fiberglass or organic mat coated
with asphalt and topped with ceramic granules that provide color and UV protection.

Architectural Shingles (also called dimensional or laminated shingles) represent a premium tier of
asphalt shingles. Unlike traditional 3-tab shingles, architectural shingles feature multiple layers that
create depth and dimension, mimicking the appearance of more expensive materials like slate or
wood shake while maintaining the practical benefits of asphalt.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you do residential metal roofs?

That is not a service we offer.

We don’t believe the benefit is worth the cost. It may be better to put that money towards a new roof.

It’s important to understand that we are removing thousands of pounds of heavy, abrasive materials. We ask that the lawn be cleaned up and clear of any decorations. If there are any special items or plants we need to watch out for please let us know in advance. We suggest removing pictures or art off the walls. Move any and all vehicles to the road, down the street, or maybe at a neighbors if possible. Lastly you may want to plan a day away from the house while we complete the project.

It really depends on height, proximity to other homes, facets, pitch, and deck replacement but a typical home usually takes 1 to 2 days.

Most communities in Wisconsin allow roofing to start a 8:00am but we usually show up around 7:30am to start preparing the roof and surrounding areas so we can start your shingle roof project at 8:00am.
